Links to some of my favourite things I saw this week:
1) This video about Earth Hour, which happens on Saturday, March 27, 2010. We're spending part of the weekend in downtown Seoul, home to giant outdoor TV screens and multicoloured light displays, so it'll be interesting to see what happens there.
2) An article about bojagi, the Korean tradition on wrapping gifts (and other objects you want to carry) in cloth.
3) Ikat Bag's adorable stuffed chicken, which even lays eggs. So cute and clever!
4) Another cute Easter or anytime craft, Chez Beeper Bebe's Felt Egg Design book
5) Bibimbaffle from Waffleizer. I couldn't quite figure out why this was so appealing until I checked the comments and saw that someone mentioned dolsot bibimbap. I like bibimbap and make it at home. I really like dolsot bibimbap but, since it involves heating stone bowls until they're really hot and then adding your bibimbap, it's not something I'll be doing at home anytime soon. It's easy enough to get at a restaurant here in Seoul but I thought I'd have to do without it when we returned home. The best part of dolsot bibimbap is the crispy layer that forms where the rice meets the bowl, which seems to be just what happens when you wafflize bibimbap. This will go on the list of things to try when we go home.
